I am in my third year of the Geography, Planning, and Design Ph.D. program at the University of Colorado - Denver, College of Architecture and Planning. My dissertation research focuses on plants and water in the designed landscapes of the American West, combining scholarship from landscape architecture, environmental history, political ecology, and critical physical geography. Through mixed-methods research and geospatial analysis, I am investigating the uneven power dynamics underlying past and present design decisions in the semi-arid West. My Masters of Landscape Architecture is from the University of Minnesota and I received a BA in Performance Theory and Political Systems from George Washington University. I am also a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a teacher.
